The Members Details page lists all of the current members of your branch. Clicking on any name in the lists causes that person’s record to be displayed. As a means of quick reference, members who have subscriptions or medicals due in the next month are shown in bold text. Those who have overdue medicals or subscriptions are shown in bold red text. A $ symbol indicates overdue subscriptions and a + overdue medicals. In Dive Data 2000 people can have one of three membership statuses A Prospective Member is someone who has made contact with the branch but hasn’t actually joined. For example they may have taken part in a try dive or other promotion. Maintaining this information enables you to send follow up letters to encourage people to join the branch. Pressing the Join toolbar button when displaying a prospective member changes their status to Current Member and prompts you to enter additional data. Pressing the Delete button causes that person’s record to be permanently and totally erased from the database. A Current Member is someone who is a paid up member of your branch. If they don’t pay their subscriptions you can press the Drop button to remove them from the branch. This retains their record in the database but marks them as an Ex member. Once someone has been a current member of a branch their records cannot be deleted because you might need to refer to them in the future, or they might rejoin. An Ex Member is someone who has been a member of the branch but has let their membership lapse. You can press the Rejoin button to reinstate them to current membership. As it is so easy to move people between Current and Ex membership, it is a good idea to drop members quickly once their membership is in arrears. You can always reinstate them later. You can switch between lists of the Prospective, Current and Ex membership types using the View menu. |
