Customising DiveData

The top half of the form allows you to enter details that apply to the entire group; the Place, Dive Marshall, Type of Dive, Boat details (if used) and some notes that are stored for each diver.

The grid in the bottom half of the screen has a row for each buddy pair/trio. Select the members of each pair from the drop down list of divers which appears when the cursor is in the Dive Leader or Buddy column. If a dive involves three people then enter the name in the Buddy 2 column. Enter the dive parameters; Time Down, Maximum Depth, Dive Time, Total Time, Start and End Codes and stops (if diving off BS-AC tables).

Repeat the above for each set of divers. Then press the Log button to log the dives. A Dive log record will be created for each diver, with the “Buddy” field being swapped for each pair- so in the example above Clarrie will have a record created with Karen as her buddy, Karen will have a record with Clarrie as her buddy and Usha will have a record with Clarrie as her buddy. All divers in the set will have the same Times, Depths and Codes.

The Dive Details grid will then be blanked, so that you can enter details for more divers, or second dives for the same people. When you have finished logging dives press Close

Although this method of logging dives is quick, it does not allow as much detail to be recorded as does the Dive Log screen which is used to enter details for individual divers. However, you can always use the Dive Log screen to add information about a particular dive by editing the record that was created in the Log a Club Dive process.
