Customising DiveData

Dive Data 2000 is available in two formats; as a large file which you may have downloaded from the Internet or as a CD-ROM.

Installing from CD ROM.

The setup program should run when you insert the CD ROM. If this is not the case then run the program SETUP.EXE It is recommended that you close all other programs which may be running because otherwise they may prevent various library files from being updated.

Follow the prompts in the setup program, which will ask you for the destination directory into which to install Dive Data 2000. The default is C:\Program Files\DiveData 2000\ but you can specify any directory, or move the files later. The only condition is that DIVEDATA.EXE, DIVEDATA2000.MDB and the various .RPT files are all together in the same directory.

Installing a downloaded file.

Use File Manager or Program Manager to run the program which you downloaded. The name of the program may vary, especially if it was renamed by the administrators of the system from which you downloaded it. The file is a "self-extracting executable" which means that it contains all of the files to be installed in a compressed form and can extract and install them in one go. It is recommended that you close all other programs which may be running because otherwise they may prevent various library files from being updated.
