The Dive Log screen provides
full details of each dive, displayed as a number of pages. The dive log
number, buddy, marshall and date are displayed for all pages.
The log number is calculated by
checking the highest log number previously recorded by that diver and
adding one. If no dives have been logged the numbering starts at one. The
log number can be edited, so that if you wish you can overwrite the
suggested number to only record details of some of your dives.
Summary
The “front” page of the
collection displays most of the information about the dive. Dive Site is
selected from pick lists, zooming in on country, then locations within the
country and then sites at that location. If a country, location or site
are not already in the database, selecting [New Country], [New Location]
or [New Site] will display the New Locations form allowing you to enter
the details of the new site.
The “Type of Dive” option
button group allows you to specify whether a boat was used, so that you
can later enter details of it. Similarly the “Deco Calculation” option
group allows you to specify whether a dive computer or tables were used,
which determines how the Profile page displays

If you used tables to plan your
dive then the page displays fields to enter the start and surfacing code.
These fields are disabled if a computer is used. Maximum depth,
visibility, weather and equipment are displayed in all cases.
Time down and Time up set the
times during which the dive took place. Total time is automatically
calculated as the difference in minutes between these values. Deco times,
Water speed and temperatures may also be entered.
If you enter the Start and End
pressures of your cylinder (in bar) and its volume (in litres) Dive Data
2000 will calculate the volume of free air you consumed. If you have
entered a minute-by-minute dive profile Dive Data 2000 will also calculate
your rate of air consumption.
Dive Data 2000 can store up to
five gas mixes. For each mix enter the % Oxygen, % Helium (if used) and %
Nitrogen. In each case the Depth column is the depth at which you switched
to that mix.
Note: Dive Data 2000 does not contain a copy of any
tables, so cannot check the values you give it. This is merely a place to
store your own calculations. If you need software to plan
decompression profiles then take a look at ProPlanner.
