Dive Data 2000 has an extensive database of training courses and qualifications that are relevant to divers. More importantly you can add to the database so that the list will never go out of date. The Available Training Courses screen lets you store information about training in a hierarchy. The top level of the hierarchy is the Certifying Agency. This lets you store contact information about each agency. As well as the address, phone and fax numbers and address of the web site, you can display the agency’s logo. To do this you must create a bitmap of the logo and save it in your Dive Data 2000 installation directory. When an agency record is selected Dive Data 2000 will attempt to find and display a bitmap named [Agency Initials].BMP For example, DAN.BMP Each agency has a number of courses or qualifications. Selecting “New Course” from the Training menu will allow you to add a new course for the currently selected agency. Similarly selecting “New Lesson” lets you add a lesson to the current course. Each lesson and course has Start and Finish dates between which it is valid. These can be used to “retire” old courses so that you can’t accidentally select an obsolete qualification. You can also set Maximum and Minimum grades for each lesson so that you can filter out irrelevant courses for a particular diver. For example, there is no point in listing First Class Divers on a class register for a Club Diver lecture just because they never did the (new) Club Diver course when they were learning to dive. |
